My husband is trying to get me added to his insurance, but they need to verify our marriage with a certificate AND joint ownership.
I own the house and my name is on all the bills. We have separate bank accounts and credit cards and we just venmo each other when it’s needed.
The easiest way to fix this would be to add each other to one of the bank accounts, but they require a statement and it won’t be generated in time for the verification deadline – the 24th of this month.
What are ways to get around this and also why is the definition of a marriage shared debt? This isn’t a business partnership. Philosophically I’m annoyed and logistically I’m stumped.
