Hi everyone. I’m really overwhelmed with this issue and looking for help. I have Highmark insurance and am type one diabetic. I used to get my CGM (continuous glucose monitor) supplies from Home Care Delivered as I was told I was covered 100%. Last month I got a bill for $800 from HCD, and insurance said that they had never told me that I was covered 100%. I had many back-and-forth calls between the supplier and my insurance—long story short, I have appealed this claim and am waiting on a reply. I now found a new supplier that my insurance told me was covered under my “enhanced” benefits and covered 100%: Edgepark. I placed an order with Edgepark and then was notified that my insurance now has said that they will not cover the supplies with Edgepark, and that I must pay out of pocket and then will be reimbursed by insurance. I just don’t know what to do anymore—I do not have multiple thousands of dollars to cover this expense up front and am frustrated by getting told one thing and then told another weeks later. I am without my supplies and my health is suffering for it. Any health would be appreciated.
