Hi,
I’m relatively new to the world of health insurance (I have Cigna and get it through my work).
I was billed approximately $600 for an in-network doctor’s appointment. On my Cigna page it said that my patient responsibility is about $250 dollars, and I paid it through Cigna’s portal (I received confirmation).
My account page on the hospital’s portal, however, still shows the original balance of ~$600. It’s been over a week since I paid the $250 via Cigna.
I have some questions about this:
Do I also have to pay the $600 through my hospital’s site portal? If so, is Cigna going to reimburse me? I was under the impression that Cigna was going to contact my hospital to inform them that I’d paid the $250 bucks. Is this not the case? Do I have to let my hospital’s billing department know?
Thanks!
