How does insurance makes sense with a really high deductible?

My job has insurance benefits but it has a deductible of $6k. Im relatively healthy but see a therapist monthly and a psychiatrist every 3ish months, and have corresponding prescriptions. My therapist’s rates are around $200/session and my psychiatrist is slightly higher. Every insurance I’ve ever been on before has had it be that they paid most of those costs year round and I paid $20-40 an appointment. But now I’m on my new jobs insurance and was looking at coverage and it says all my copays only start after my full deductible is met, and only has 6 things it waives the deductible for (wellness exams, vaccinations, preventative screenings, preventive pap tests, preventative mammograms, and preventative prostate cancer screenings). I haven’t seen a doctor yet on my new plan so I don’t know officially how much I’ll have to pay per visit but it’s looking like it might be a completely useless plan besides the prescriptions, which doesn’t justify the $240/month price tag.

So what’s the point in even having insurance for someone like me?
