Question about health insurance and nonrenwal…

I know this might sound like a stupid question, but I don’t have any idea on how health insurance works. I recently moved to Minneapolis, and I went to the emergency room. I’m wondering if my insurance company would choose not to renew my policy at the end of the year because of the ER visit. I’ve never been to the ER before. Is it like car insurance; after a certain amount of incidents or huge incident, can the health insurance company choose not to renew my policy? I don’t mind a premium increase; in the state I lived in before my premiums were almost twice the amount it is here. I’m just really happy with my insurance company and policy. Thank you.
