Hello,
I’m trying to help my mom get coverage with Covered CA and are kinda confused by all the options. She makes 65k and lives in Los Angeles area. I’m between the Gold and Platinum tier and leaning towards PPO/EPO Gold. I’m anticipating her seeing a few specialists/doctors through out the year since it’s been a while since her last physical. She was a smoker when she was younger and her health condition would be rated as normal/fair (I think). She needs to get screened for everything since it’s been a while. The monthly deductibles are really high (I’ll be helping pay a portion of it). The annual max out of pocket is $8,200 for an individual (gold) and $4,500 indiviual (Platinum).
Oscar Insurance is the least expensive, but the selection of doctors around my area is a lot less than Health Net and Blue California.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
