My health insurance made an evaluation for my request for a power wheelchair and told me they don’t cover folding electric wheelchairs or anything for use outside the home, as they don’t have a billing code. I really need this wheelchair (AirHawk) to live a somewhat normal life. Right now I’m just stuck inside the house because I can’t get up the hill of my neighborhood and to a bus stop. I’m not exaggerating by saying an electric wheelchair will dramatically improve my life. How can I get insurance to cover it?
