Trying to make this short, but my left arm is dangling because of a shoulder issue. Went to the walk-in and they can only do an X-ray. My guess is a rotator cuff issue, but what do I know? An X-ray won’t pick this up and dr agrees. Radiologist says “mild arthritis”. I’m a bit incredulous as I haven’t been in this much pain in forever. I ask if I can get an MRI. Doc says my insurance (Anthem) won’t cover it until I go through 3 phases of options. Steroids, exercise, and Physical Therapy, before I can get an MRI. This will take months. My question is, can I get an MRI if I agree to pay for it out of pocket?
