I was with ambetter of Illinois for 2021. My deductible/max out of pocket was $600.
In December I received an email, letter and a notification on my ambetter account showing what my plan would look like for 2022 if I decided to stay with them. My deductible/Max OOP was still $600.
I called ambetter up on 12/14 to confirm everything since the deadline to pick a new plan via marketplace was 12/15. The rep on the phone confirmed everything with me.
Today, I received my new insurance card in the mail which states my deductible/max OOP is now $2100.
I called ambetter 3 times. All 3 times they told me it’s not their issue but a marketplace issue. I told them I never picked a plan via marketplace since I kept the same plan as the previous year, I was told by the rep that I didn’t have to do anything. The third time I called them they hung up on me and never called me back.
When I talk to marketplace they told me all they do is help provide insurance companies to us and the insurance companies are the ones that set the deductible rates.
Basically, I’m going in circles.
Who is the correct person that should be helping me with this? I even saved my screenshots from ambetter showing my coverage and deductibles for 2022. Any advice?
The rep from ambetter told me they don’t have anything to do with deductibles.
