True catastrophic plan??

I’ve been Googling and searching Reddit for months now trying to figure out if the health plan I really want is out there.

So, I am a NP. I could lose 30 pounds but otherwise no health issues. No medications. I am 32. If I need an antibiotic (once a year if that) I’m lucky enough to have connections to get it without a visit. The only visit I’ve had in the past couple of years I paid cash for as I am able to do so.

I am not worried about paying a hundred here, few hundred there to pay CASH for most outpatient things. I could even easily make payments for MRI’s and such without issue and have it paid off in a few months if not immediately.

All I REALLY want covered is if I was to get into an accident, need a surgery, etc.

I work at a very small office that cannot offer benefits but pay is good. Regardless the cheapest plans on the Marketplace are over $300 a month with around $6k deductible.

There are some “catastrophic” plans but they’re only allowed for a limited duration.

And I know all of the arguments for having good health insurance and all but I feel I’m in a place I am willing to accept some risk to save money.

Any tips?
