My insurance covers an annual wellness checkup during which my doc asked if I had any concerns. I told them about a mental health concern and we talked about it for like 10 mins after which she referred me to a different person. Today, I got a bill for $60 even though my Wellness checkup was covered. Since this is my first checkup in the US I wanted to understand if this is normal. Before I bring up any concerns, should I always have to ask my doc if it’s going to be covered by my insurance? Feels pretty ridiculous
