Need help moving from my parents’ insurance to my own

Hi all. I’ve made the decision to leave my parents’ health insurance plan after already being added to their plan for this year (currently working on separating all ties with them, lots of issues). I know open enrollment in the US ends Jan 15th and takes effect Feb 1st, so I’m curious about a few things.

Is my dad able to remove me from their plan after the start of the year without penalty? Currently on BCBS.

If I’m successfully removed before the deadline, will I be insured for the rest of the month or will my coverage end immediately?

Will the insurance that begins on Feb 1st retroactively cover me in January? Obviously, being double insured is a no no. I can’t find any info about this on the plan itself, but I want to make sure I’m not accidentally committing fraud.

Any guidance would be great!
