Because of my disability that existed before the age of 26, I’m under my parent’s plan for health insurance.
I want to try working with remote jobs being available so I got a job and my employer offers full benefits.
There’s a lot of uncertainty with my health and the last time I had a temporary improvement I lost my job a few months in and lost my health insurance.
I dont want that to happen again and getting approved for my parents plan was not easy.
I’m thinking of forgoing health insurance with my employer entirely for this reason.
However, if I DID enroll, would my parent’s insurance company get notification or find out that I’m enrolled in another policy, possibly risking dropping me?
If my employer offers dental coverage as part of their own whole and I only opt for dental and not health, would the other insurance company see active coverage in these things and possibly drop me?
I’m trying not to just drop my parent’s plan suddenly and be left without insurance cause I had trouble keeping up the job or something..
