Hi all, I am struggling to understand dental insurance and how to not end up paying hundreds.
I checked with my insurance’s search tool that they covered this dental practice. I called the practice to confirm as well. After my appointment, I find out that the specific dentist I visited was out of network. I’m not sure how that’s possible since he works at that practice? Again, I’m very new to this so does insurance only cover specific dentists within a practice?
Feeling so discouraged as all I want to do is fix my teeth and I finally found a dentist I like, but I cannot afford nearly $8K right now (nor can I afford the loan they want outta me). Also feeling upset that the practice would deliberately schedule me with a dentist who doesn’t accept my insurance despite knowing what my insurance was.
