We already have a family HDHP with HSA under my employer health plan. My spouse has waffled between unemployed and being a 1099 for the last several years (we’ve moved a few times for my job).
They are considering becoming an employee for a small company that seems to be offering an HRA type plan, where they fund an account and you use that to cover insurance premiums and other health costs.
I have a few questions 1. Is them having an HRA allowed since they’re already covered under an HSA?
If it is, can they use their employer HRA contributions to add to my/our HSA account (instead of funding their own insurance plan)?
Are there any other things we should consider?
