About 3 years ago I moved abroad and while I was abroad I met my partner, who is a native of the foreign country I moved to. We always had plans that we would move back to the USA together, however while we were still dating she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She will likely need treatment the rest of her life, as well as check-ups, tests, etc. Thankfully she is fully covered via private health insurance in her home country. However, we want to move to the USA and start our lives here as we had planned (we are both in our 20s). Will we be able to find affordable health insurance for her here that would cover her pre-existing condition? I honestly can’t see myself living in her home country permanently, and it would be so sad if she couldn’t move to the USA with me and then we break-up because of cancer and health insurance. Any insight would be helpful 🙂
