I’m hoping y’all can help me think through some things. I haven’t done a lot of research yet. So, here are the basics:
I live in NC and just found out I’m pregnant. I’m planning to move to Pennsylvania at some point this summer. I have a catastrophic plan (8700 deductible) through the market place and my husband has a plan through his work. Our son is actually covered through Medicaid for now. He will be leaving his work when we move this summer. Neither of us will be working at this time.
Okay, so my questions are:
Will I have to get new insurance for the rest of prenatal care and the delivery/hospital? I assume everything will be out of network…but is out of network covered under max out of pocket of my NC plan? Or do I have to get new insurance upon moving to PA? Will my husband and I qualify for medicaid because we will be out of work? I feel kind of bad because we have the savings to cover all of this but obviously, if we could go through medicaid that would be awesome.
I know this is a lot but any assistance would be great! I guess what I would love to avoid is paying towards my deductible until I move and then getting a brand new deductible when I move to PA.
