I am probably getting laid off soon. I don’t want COBRA since its $3000/month. When I talked to a health insurance person and obamacareplans.com (i did not realize this was not the government site). He said i was only eligible for “private plans” which are subject to my health. Can I get a plan immediately? I was told there is some delay in getting plans underwritten, but the agent. I think that is for the private plan. Id rather not have to pick up COBRA at $3000/month to fill the gap.
When I look at healthcare.gov site, I see this
https://www.healthcare.gov/help/prove-coverage-loss/
A letter about COBRA coverage, like a letter from an employer or health insurance company that confirms these: Your employer’s offer of COBRA coverage along with the date this coverage would start. Your COBRA coverage ended or will end, or your employer stopped or will stop contributing to the cost of coverage and when.
