I’m trying to parse my insurance options at my new job, and what’s throwing me is that the manual has multiple terminologies in the same tables. For example, Preventative Care says “No Charge” while Labs/X-rays/Preventative Tests says “100% covered, deductible doesn’t apply.” For some sections, it lists “0% after deductible” for in-network care. Lastly, for their HDHP Plan with HSA, almost every section just says “Plan pays 100%”.
So do these all basically mean the same thing; that the insurance company is paying for everything? At first I thought “0% after deductible” meant that 0% is covered, but considering that for out-of-network care, the same section might list 30% or 50% after deductible, are the percentages referring to the plan’s coinsurance (what I have to pay)?
