Our daughter (5) is having some health challenges and we are having to take her to occupational therapy 1x per week.
During intake, they told us we could file with our insurance which would result in the appointments costing $600+ for each visit until we hit deductible when it becomes $60+ each or pay out of pocket for $150 per visit. We don’t know how long we’ll need to have her in OT, so we filed, but now we’re saddled with this huge bill until we hit our 3k deductible.
Why is the price so different? Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to mediate the insured cost? I had to go to part time in order to take care of my girl’s needs, so this is really crippling us right now.
