Getting medication after switching insurance?

Hi. I just got kicked out of the house, and my parents are removing me from their insurance. I am unemployed and currently figuring out how to apply for Medicaid. How do I get my antidepressants? I moved out of state, so my doctor can’t see me to prescribe them. I don’t have insurance yet. Once I find a new psychiatrist, will they be able to give me the same meds? in the same amount? Or do I have to start all over? I just moved here (to NY from OH) so I don’t see a doctor. I’ve been told that Medicaid only covers psychiatrists if your normal doctor refers them, or if they’re in the same system (like Cleveland clinic for example). I’ve been suggested I do online psychiatric visits but I’m unsure if Medicaid will cover that? I’m sorry if these questions are dumb. My parents purposely prevented me from learning information about insurance as a way to keep me reliant on them; it’s a whole mess, really.
