Having trouble choosing between the two:
Any input would be appreciated:
HSA: $82 semi monthly Deductible $1600 with out of pocket max $4300 Employer contribution to HSA: $450 80% Coinsurance 80% coverage for most visits, specialist visit, scripts, 100% for preventative/screening
HSA: $56 semi monthly Deductible $3100 with out of pocket max $6300 Employer contribution to HSA: $200 70% Coinsurance 70% coverage for most visits, specialist visit, scripts, 100% for preventative/screening
Both HSA employer contribution is semi-monthly rather than upfront
PPO: $91 semi monthly Deductible: $1100 with $4300 out of pocket max 80% coinsurance 80% coverage. With 60$ copay specialist visit, ded waived. 100% preventative visits
To be honest, I don’t plan on contributing much to an HSA due to student loans, etc…I’m fairly healthy, I just can be a bit of a hypochondriac, and visit the doc 2x a year maybe with one specialist visit.
I know healthcare in this country is expensive, and anything could happen, therefore I don’t mind paying a higher monthly premium, just to have lower healthcare bills.
