So we are shopping for marketplace plans. My husband was laid off due to Covid and has a new job he actually likes more but the company is small and doesn’t provide insurance. They want to try to and are looking into it but I worry since they are smaller they won’t be able to get many plan options that are affordable for them. So like I said we are checking marketplace to see what our options are there also.
My husband and I are both 41. We have three girls ages 12, 9 and 1. Income fluctuates but about 150k a year. The two older girls both have cochlear implants and I don’t know how to tell if the plans cover those (there is a new processor available and we would like to upgrade their equipment) and at what percentage and if audiology and otolaryngology are covered for their services we required periodically for testing and mapping or if god forbid another surgery is ever required.
We’re just super worried that the insurance we are able to get privately or through the smaller company won’t compare to what we had with larger companies in the past.
Can anyone recommend any good plans that I won’t have a hassle actually finding drs to accept. That’s another fear of mine that we’ll get this plan and then nobody will even take it.
We are open to paying for the gold plans. None of those prices scared us away but only if they are actually good insurance plans that will do their job and cover our family.
