Which plan?

Im starting a new job and have to pick my health insurance. Kaiser Plan A is like $350 per month with no deductible for the whole family and covers basically everything 100%. Kaiser Plan B is $60 per month with $1000 deductible for the whole family but I have to pay “10% after deductible” for hospital and emergency room services and outpatient surgeries.

Wife and I are early 30’s with a kid on the way. I’ve never been to the ER or had to go to the hospital. I really have no idea what those services cost so I have no idea what 10% on those procedures could mean.

At this point we need to save money but not sure if selecting Plan B and is the more frugal choice or not. I’d be saving $300 a month but if something were to happen and one of us ended up in the ER or hospital we would need to spend $1000 plus 10% of the cost (assuming it was something expensive).

We live in the SF Bay Area.

Edit: I made a mistake on the deductible, it’s only $1000. Also deductible does not apply to routine physician and urgent care visits.
