I mean it’s crazy. I don’t know if this is legal or completely legit.
As part of my old insurance plan I went for my annual exam that was free. My doctor used a lab and this lab sent me a bill for the tests for $400. I called my doc to clarify and they said to ignore it and I don’t have to worry about it, so I did.
Now 4 years later, I get a call from a debt collector about this $400 I supposedly owe to this lab that my doctor used?
My insurance info was provided to my doctor and if they wanted $$, they should’ve made a claim against my insurance. If there were any issues, they should’ve contacted me 4 years ago about it. Not to mention the bill isn’t even mine since I contracted the service through my doctor and I didn’t directly get any services from this lab!
Is this debt color scaring me or do they actually have a legal claim against my credit report because of this alleged $400 i owe them? I declined to provide my home address
I tried to look up this bill that I remember seeing 4 years ago but since I’ve changed insurance providers I no longer have access to it. : /
