I’ll try to keep this short, I’m in the process of moving from California to Arizona and am currently in Arizona while a medical issue is popping up.
The specialists here don’t want to see me on my current California insurance (Blue shield CA) saying that I could only go to urgent care or ER until I have AZ coverage. Blue Shield AZ is saying that since its the second half of February now, the first date coverage could go in to effect is April 1st.
Is this type of month+ delay for the start of policy standard across the board? If so I might need to temporarily travel back to CA to see doctors on my existing insurance and get testing/possible surgery before April 1st. The issue isn’t bad enough to go to the ER and get it operated on rapidly, but each day that passes without treatment could make it worse in the meantime.
Thank you so much for your help.
