I switched from my work’s plan (Anthem Blue Cross) to my wife’s (Blue Shield) when our daughter was born in July. I stupidly assumed that we’d still have a full 12 months to hit our deductible, but it went by calendar year, meaning it reset on January 1st. As I didn’t hit the deductible until the end of December, I got absolutely no benefit from the new insurance plan last year!
Has anyone had any luck appealing in a similar situation? If so, what did you do? It hardly seems fair, as I only had six months to hit the deductible.
