Recently, I found out my insurance rejected my lab bill because it was missing codes, they told the lab to resubmit with the diagnostic codes.
The lab told me the doctor is the only with the codes, which I agree because the doctor’s office uploaded a patient copy of my blood test names and diagnostic codes a while ago. However, the lab said it’s best for my doctor’s staff to get in touch with them in case they need anything else. I’m just a patient so I agree that this is my doctor’s staff’s job.
I’ve emailed, called, and messaged my doctor’s office for the past two weeks and the front desk staff says they messaged the medical assistant who is responsible for this. I’m nervous the lab will continuously not be able to resubmit and try to send the bill to me.
My insurance rep wrote down these notes and said we can try to appeal if they try to send me a bill but she said it’s still better for them to resubmit in case they try anything with me. Should I be worried? I am definitely changing doctors after this. By the way, the lab and doctor are from the same company. I’m from NY
