NY mandates that most insurance policies cover 3 cycles of IVF per lifetime. Certain types of plans are exempt, but the one I have now falls under that mandate.
I read on dfs.ny.gov that “Issuers may not count cycles paid for by the insured out-of-pocket or cycles covered by other issuers towards the three-cycle limit.”
Does that mean that if I use all 3 cycles this year, then switch to a completely different insurance company next year, they would be required to cover another 3 cycles? Assuming the new plan also falls under the mandate.
