If my spouse’s employer offers a healthcare plan and he chooses not to enroll and forego healthcare coverage, will I qualify for a marketplace plan? I understand his income will factor in and change my subsidy amount, but my main questions are:
Will I qualify at all and will I be required to enroll him as well being my legal spouse? Because I know that will automatically disqualify me from subsidy eligibility
Also: Will I still qualify for a subsidy eligibility if I can file just for me? When I fill out the subsidy eligibility questionnaire it asks if you qualify for coverage through a spouse. Will the fact he is offered/qualified for insurance through his employer (but doesn’t enroll) be considered by healthcare.gov guidelines as me qualifying as well? Or will the fact that he is not enrolled mean that I do NOT qualify for coverage through my spouses employer sponsored plan since he is not enrolled so there for I don’t qualify ?
