I had a surgery and as soon as I received all the bills I started paying them off. In order to save some money, I paid for one of the bills through my HSA and another through my health insurance member site – I paid the remainder of the bills directly to the hospital.
My HSA and insurance company say that it may take up to 30 days for the payments to process while they “work with my provider” (the hospital). It has been a month since I initiated those payments and they still have not been processed by the hospital, while the payments I made directly to the hospital have been.
The hospital sent me a new bill, saying I still owe the amount that I am paying through my HSA and insurance member site (which is supposedly still being processed). Am I going to have to pay late payments because the processing is taking so long?
