Aside from hernia surgery in 2017 I haven’t been for a physical in 20 years. My last company did biometric screening with full blood workups so I considered that sufficient. My new employer doesn’t and am looking into getting it done myself except more and more people are warning me about traps. They say I can expect a new patient fee of several hundred $$ for going to a Dr. It is tough to tell what blood tests at what labs are covered as preventative. I have a good Blue Cross PPO but am still intimidated by the mess that is healthcare billing. Is there any way to navigate this and get an actually free physical at either a Dr. or some sort of minute clinic or something?
