Most of my plan benefits I understand but I can’t figure out what the Emergency room one means. I have UHC. My plan states that for Emergency Room Visits I pay a
$250 Copay and 20% coinsurance after deductible is met.
I’m unclear in what this means and if I ever need the Emergency room I don’t want to be suprised by the bill.
Everything I’ve read says that copay and coinsurance are typically seperate. So would I be correct in understanding this to mean that if I go to the Emergency room I’ll pay a $250 copay but if I’ve met my deductible then instead I pay 20% coinsurance?
If I’m wrong, what does this actually mean?
Thank you to anyone who can help clear this up!
