So my friend had an unfortunate drinking incident and long story short the bar we were at called EMS on her. A group of us tried to just Uber home but then the Uber denied us and the EMTs said they couldn’t leave her like that and forced us into the ambulance. Once we got to the ER (NYU Langone Lutheran in Brooklyn), she was let go in less than 30 minutes. They asked if she felt ok to leave, printed out some sheets and that was that. Still waiting on an ambulance bill but the ER is charging $3000 just for that visit. There is no itemized bill because apparently the only “item” on there is simply being in the ER. Is this normal? Is there a way to fight this?
