is medi-cal (CA) good for specialist care/surgeries/many pre-existing conditions?

i currently have kaiser under my parents coverage but i will be aging out of coverage by this time next year. I have many health problems and kaiser does not seem to be very helpful and going through the system is such a slow process (more than 3 month wait to see a specialist).

can anyone share their experience with medicaid in california if you have a lot of treatment required and also see psychologist out of network/does not accept insurance? how good is medicaid with reimbursing out of network claims? trying not to go broke paying out of pocket for everything right now just because kaiser isn’t cutting it and i’m pretty sure there’s no other private insurances enrolling right now in CA.

sorry if any of these questions are dumb, i’m so new to navigating this and i’m trying to figure it out. thanks in advance
