As above- I have a little over a year left to pick/get on new health insurance as under (I think Cobra?) at my 26th birthday my parents were able to get me extended under their insurance for 18 months.
Age: 26 Location: NYC Income: ~215k/year
I’m in NYC, I’m self employed, and am chronically ill with a lot of doctors appointments and medical bills. I’m currently on Blue Cross Blue Shield, but not only do they not cover a lot of the specialized doctors I need to go to (and some of my doctors have switched to not accepting them at all) but barely any of the extra tests I’ve needed/etc.
I’ve also heard of people in the US with insurance that covers extra everyday things for their care like lidocaine patches etc which would be amazing, because I go through a lot of extra ‘everyday’ medical supplies. If even more extra things like acupuncture etc could be covered too that would be incredible, but I’m not dreaming that large.
I currently pay $650/month and could comfortably go up to $1k/month if it’s worth it, but ofc the lower the better.
