stuck between/without insurance for 30 days…help?

Gave 2 weeks notice at previous job last day of work Feb 25. Moved to a different state to start new job March 7th. Just found out my previous employer’s insurance ended Feb 28 (last day of the month), but my new employers insurance doesnt start until the following 1st of the month (April 1st).

Calling like crazy to get health insurance, but have been repeatedly told anything I apply/purchase now wont start until April 1st anyways. Previous employer is nice enough to look into extending “grace period” for 1 month (instead of the last 4 days of feb), but it looks like because I no longer live in that state I might not qualify. Also, previous employer was under 20 employees, so they do no not offer Cobra.

To make matters worse, I’m trying to reschedule a doctor’s appointment I have for March 30th, but this medical specialist books up 6 months in advance!

Is there any way to get medical insurance for the month of march? Even just some catastrophic coverage would give me peace of mind, I have a very long commute at my new job.
