Background info:
– I am already on medicaid for this year due to low income (Medicaid accepted me near the end of 2021).
– November 2021- Applied through Pennie, Pennie sent my family’s previous higher income to Medicaid which prompted them to reject me. (For clarity: I applied with Pennie using my new lower income info, yet they still sent over the previous year’s info to medicaid) Thus, Pennie suggested me to enroll in the full cost plan. I did not enroll and stopped logging into their site.
– Manually applied to medicaid after their first rejection because Pennie sent them the wrong info. My manual application passed with no issues.
– Thankfully I voluntarily terminated the plan by calling Pennie on Jan 19 due to getting a premium bill in the mail. On that day, they claimed they could do a “backdate termination request” if proof of medicaid enrollment from 2021 was faxed over to Pennie’s office. The backdate was supposed to cancel the premium for the month since I neither enrolled or used that insurance plan. I sent the fax over and was told to wait a few weeks.
-If I didn’t catch them billing me in January, I may have been billed with even more premiums
-Few weeks went by and was then told that the Agent I spoke with wasn’t truthful and no backdates are allowed after Jan15 no matter what.
Not sure how they think I can pay the nearly 1k premium when I am low income. I don’t post much and you guys are my last resort so any help is appreciated!
