Coverage Q – United Healthcare

I have UHC through my job, and I’ve had chronic back pain since October and have done everything under the sun to try and make my back feel better. My PCP put in an authorization request for an MRI and they denied it (reason: “unproven treatment”). At this point I’m leaning towards a disc issue. I believe she’s going to set up a peer to peer review with them next week, however, I’m in so much pain I’m going ahead and getting the MRI and paying cash price. If the P2P is successful, is there a way for them to reimburse me/have what I paid applied to my deductible? It might be a dumb question, but I’m still fairly new to having my own health insurance. Thanks in advance.

I did find a reimbursement form on the website, but it says it’s for out of network claims only, and the facility I’m using is in network.
