i got a few cultures done last year AT my doctors office. my doctor sent it to a hospital for the pathology department there to test it. now, i have 6 $190 bills from the hospital because they billed it as outpatient. i have never been to this hospital. my doctors office is not at or affiliated with this hospital. this hospital is simply where my doctor sent the cultures. this shouldn’t be getting billed as outpatient, correct? and if so, is there anything i can do about it? i have been arguing with my insurance, the hospital billing department, and my doctors office for a year now. it seems like no one comprehends that this wasn’t outpatient.
