Can there be provider discounts for OON providers? My EOB sometimes gives a provider discount for out of network providers (and sometimes lists “ineligible amounts” for the same providers and same cpt codes, with different amounts reduced). The insurance company says all the EOBs are correct, and the info just varies from day to day.
Is that right? Does it make any difference that sometimes the EOB says this provider with this CPT code is reduced by a provider discount, and sometimes by an ineligible amount?
