They canceled my insurance on Feb 1, 2022 for not paying. I had been waiting for a bill that never showed up. I got one bill in January saying no payment due and that was it.
The letter they sent on March 6th did not arrive until March 21st, and it was to tell me that my insurance had been canceled on Feb 1st. This was after I had started physical therapy on Feb. 7th and the people who do the billing there either never tried contacting my insurance to find out if I was actually being properly billed, or they did and forgot to tell me I my insurance was no good. Either way I’m not happy.
My local mail carried is very incompetent, so its entirely possible the bill I actually needed was lost. She has lost many important letters over the last 3 years. But no one from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield ever called or emailed me about what was happening. Like I said, I got one paper bill in January saying No Payment Due and then found out yesterday I’d been canceled since Feb 1st. I called Highmarks phone number to ask what the heck was going on. They said they would need 7 to 10 business days just to dig into the matter and find out what happened, but I got a phone call the next day (this morning) telling me the cancelation was final and theres nothing I could do about it. They did recommend I call the Marketplace 1-800 number and ask for a Special Enrollment Program, but that was it.
I cannot do anything about this situation. I just wanted everyone to know that Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is full of incompetent people and likes to ass fuck their customers. If they wanna sue me for liable or slander I would love to meet them in court. I bet I could get a halfway decent lawyer to take the case on contingency and really bleed them dry. In the meantime I’ve got a crapload of bills from physical therapy I will probably never be able to pay. So thanks for that, Obama.
My insurance situation was SO much better before the falsely named Affordable Care Act. And that orange rapist only made it worse.
For reference, my insurance was costing me 838 dollars a month. And I never got to use it for that one month it was good. I literally had no other options besides them thanks to Obama and his fucking convoluted plan to mess up Americas insurance. I wish he had instead actually tried to do something useful. The man is allegedly quite smart. Obviously the Republicans were never going to help the people so we can’t rely on them.
Wanted everyone to know what kind of company they are. If you have them, please be careful, if you are considering them, best of luck to you but I don’t think you’ll be happy. If you’ve already been screwed over please let me know.
