Health Insurance and marriage

So this may be a stupid question, so I apologize in advance! My fiancé and I are getting married in April of this year, and I am currently still on my fathers insurance plan. I know that I can continue to stay on his insurance plan until I am 26, despite being married. My question is, will my father have to inform our insurance company (United healthcare) that I am now married?

Basically, we are wanting to get married before our actual ceremony, and we were planning on keeping it a secret for a little bit. Just to have something special between the two of us. But, I have health issues where I need insurance badly, so I don’t want to be kicked off his insurance due to being married and insurance not being aware.

So, once I’m married, will my father have to let insurance know that I am married or does insurance actually care?

Again I apologize if this is a stupid question, and I apologize if it’s confusing to understand. I wasn’t sure how to word it!

Thank you! (Also wasn’t sure what flair to use sorry)
