This might be a stupid question, but I’m very confused about my health insurance and employment status.
So, I got on Medicaid about a year and a half ago ago when my job was eliminated and I voluntarily quit. Six months ago I started a new job, and I called Meridian to update my employment/wage information, but the guy who answered the phone seemed clueless about what to do, and just said “uh okay, I’ll write that down for you.”
I was never contacted about being cut off despite my pay being well above poverty level, so I still have Medicaid. However, I can essentially pay for an insurance plan through my work. Shouldn’t I have been contacted about Medicaid ending? Were limitations removed due to COVID/state of emergency? Am I doing something wrong/illegal?
I don’t want this to come back to bite me because I was genuinely clueless about what to do.
