Hi there!
I am about to turn 26 in NY and im seeing a lot of conflicting information about how to calculate household income on nystateofhealth. I am planning on going back to school and will be living with my parents for a couple years (will be off of their insurance at the end of may). I will be working part time while in school and will be well under the ammount a single person needs to make for gvt assistance.
My question: since I’m no longer a dependent under my parent’s taxes, am I considered my own household even though I live with them? I’m seeing a lot of conflicting answers, and if I have to include their income I will definitely not get any assistance.
If anyone has had experience with this I would really appreciate any advice. And if I will not get any assistance are there any options that will not leave me in crazy debt? Thanks!
