My insurance company, on 3 separate occasions, have quoted me (AND the provider) benefits indicating that the services were covered.
In August 2021, I was told on several occasions that I could attend an OCD residential program in Boston, MS pending medical necessity. We didn’t even make it that far because the company retracted the quotes. The Friday before I was supposed to admit, I was told by a representative “don’t worry, it’s a covered benefit and you’ll be able to go to treatment.” I was an idiot and trusted them. I purchased my plane and hotel tickets only to get screwed in the process.
In September 2021, same thing only this time for an IUI (fertility services). Told it was covered pending prior-auth and then was told no prior authorization required – only for them to once again take it all back.
Now, I’m trying to order a breast pump. I’ve called 6 times and get incorrect information every time. They give me out of network providers. Then they give me retailers who don’t offer pumps even if I specifically ask “do they offer pumps?, “are they in network?”
This is so frustrating!!!! I sent a complaint in September – no one ever called and I never received a decision/result of the investigation. I have documentation, names, reference numbers.
