Fixed Indemnity Plan with Mec

My husband just lost his job and our health insurance with it. I was able to get us coverage through the ACA at no cost to us because we qualified for tax subsidy. We had it for years when he was self employed and are very happy with it. Here is where the problem lies…he was just offered a new job yesterday and starts in a few days. The insurance they offer (American Worker Fixed Indemnity Plan) doesn’t seem to cover much of anything and I am trying to determine whether or not it would prevent us from continuing to qualify for the tax subsidy. It is a fixed indemnity plan that includes MEC. I was told by someone at the Marketplace to have the employer fill out a form to state whether or not the coverage meets the minimum value requirement but got nowhere with that. The HR rep did not fill out the form and simply stated that “Yes, our plan is Minimum Essential Coverage services satisfy the requirement set forth by the ACA.”

Do these plans really count as insurance coverage?? TIA for any insight.
