I just turned 26 this year so I was removed from my moms health insurance Local 1199. (That insurance was so amazing, it literally covered everything so I’m sad.)
I would like to add that I have lupus. Not sure if that makes a difference to what kind of coverage I’m looking for.
I was living in NYC and my family (my parents and brothers) moved out to Orange, NJ last year. Now all my doctors are in NYC and I still go to them, wouldn’t trade my medical team. A question that popped in my head while I was browsing is would I still be able to look for and apply for health insurance in NY even if I live in NJ since all my doctors are in NYC?
Also where exactly do I start the search? I was told I have to start at healthcare.gov and apply first.
I’m dirt low income because I work in retail while I’m going to school and finishing a program.
Thank you so much in advance for any help or information!
