TLDR: When health insurance T&Cs say that pre-existing conditions are excluded from the policy, what does that actually mean?
My case: I’ve been experiencing fatigue, aches and other issues for several years and been working with my local GP to find out what the cause is. I’m getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of speed of the process (e.g. I’ve had to wait months for certain specialist to become available to see me). We’ve done loads of tests, seen specialist, etc but so far I’ve not been diagnosed with anything.
Could I sign up for private medical insurance and speed up these diagnostics? Would they classify my symptoms as ‘pre-existing conditions’ and therefore would not pay for any further diagnostics. Or does my condition actually need to be a diagnosis?
Maybe I’m being paranoid, but this is a throwaway in case any insurance claims investigator does a thorough job of tracking down my social media activity.
