Hi everyone, I’m not sure if this subreddit can answer questions related to dental insurance but if anyone can, I’d be grateful. So in summary, I have two insurances. I got Medicaid during COVID and have had a managed plan since. I also got another dental insurance with my job because I need serious dental work and I opted for the one with the highest maximum. I had major depression for the past few years so I really needed this. I gave my dentist the information for my 2nd insurance so that I could then start doing the root canals, crowns, etc that I needed. But I had also done basic dental work there which I literally said please bill it to Medicaid. They’ve already used up $350 worth of my maximum. They continuously told me I had to go on a certain date to see this dentist because she was the only one who accepted Medicaid. But this whole time they’ve been billing my second insurance. I’m honestly upset right now and I’m wondering what to do about this now? I have a bill with them from the basic dental work that I cannot afford to pay right now. I’ve literally been saving to get the root canals and crowns done on 2 of my teeth. Now I have more bills to pay. What should I do?
Edit: also they listed a different dentist. They listed one of the other dentists at the office that does mainly see non Medicaid patients. I read somewhere that this is fraud, is this true?
